Turn the Bitterroot Valley Into Our Classroom
Learning Shouldn't Stop at the Classroom Door
At Bitterroot Early Learning Network, we believe some of the best learning happens outside the classroom. Our nature-based and place-based approach encourages children to explore their surroundings, connect with their community, and learn from the world around them.
But to explore the Bitterroot Valley, we need a way to get there.
We’re working to get a 15-passenger van that will help us take learning beyond our doors and into the places that make our community special.
Why We Need A Van
The Bitterroot Valley is filled with opportunities for children to explore, discover, and learn. Transportation, however, can make accessing these experiences challenging.
Planning field trips can be challenging when transportation is limited. Coordinating multiple vehicles, relying on families or staff, and working around schedules can make it difficult to provide the consistent experiences that are central to our approach.
A dedicated 15-passenger van would help lift that transportation burden and give BELN more flexibility to plan meaningful experiences throughout the year.
Instead of asking, “How will we get there?”, we can focus on “What can the children discover?”
Where Will the Van Take Us?
A van would help us turn the Bitterroot Valley into an extension of the classroom.

Explore Nature
Visit local trails, forests, parks, and other outdoor spaces where children can observe, investigate, and learn from the natural world.

Experience Our Community
Visit local farms, businesses, organizations, and community partners to help children connect with the people and places around them.

Expand Summer Explorers
Create more opportunities for field trips, outdoor adventures, and hands-on experiences throughout the summer.

Build Community Connections
Make it easier for children and educators to learn alongside the people who make the Bitterroot Valley unique.
Ways To Help
We’re looking for a safe, reliable, new or gently used 15-passenger van, and there are several ways our community can help us get there.
Know of a business, organization, or individual with a safe, reliable 15-passenger van that could be donated to BELN? We would love to hear from you and explore whether it could be a good fit for our programs. Contact our Executive Director, Ella at ella@beln.org.
Financial contributions will help us purchase a van and cover the costs associated with getting it ready for use.

Businesses and community partners can help support the cost of the vehicle, vehicle graphics, insurance, maintenance, or other transportation needs.

More Places to Explore. More Ways to Learn.
A 15-passenger van would do more than provide transportation. It would open the door to more opportunities for children to explore, discover, and connect with the place they call home.
