Wilderness Bonding

Strengthening Family Connection Through Shared Outdoor Experience

Cultivating Connection in the Outdoors

Wilderness Bonding helps families connect outdoors. Guided by BELN staff and community partners, families of all experience levels explore the Bitterroot Valley through hikes, sensory play, and storytelling, building confidence and strengthening caregiver-child bonds. The program also fosters connections among families, often forming lasting support networks, while nurturing curiosity, environmental awareness, and overall family wellbeing.

Beyond the Trail: Family Support

This program is intentionally integrated with BELN’s broader family support services. Families participating in Wilderness Bonding may also engage in one-on-one support, workshops, or early learning programs. Staff use these experiences as opportunities to build trust and connect families to additional resources as needed.

Outdoor Learning, Lasting Bonds

Wilderness Bonding demonstrates how nature-based experiences can support family connection and wellbeing. Accessible and inclusive, it fosters confidence, community, and lasting relationships while helping families feel connected to the environment they call home.
